Iran Raises Gasoline Prices

Brown University’s Iran War Energy Cost Tracker estimates the U.S. war with Iran has added $100 billion to Americans’ energy costs, with the total increasing by about $1 million every two minutes. AAA put regular gasoline at an average of $4.15 a gallon, while diesel prices have risen to record levels, increasing pressure on drivers, freight and travel. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said lower gasoline prices are a reasonable expectation, even as the conflict continues. The costs are entering Senate campaigns in North Carolina, Michigan and Texas, where Republican candidates continue backing the war amid polls showing majority opposition.
