Melania Trump Launches Imperia

Melania Trump rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange to launch Imperia, a women-focused initiative and summit for female CEOs and executives. Imperia is meant to help women become leaders and increase their economic power, with an invite-only global summit held during UN General Assembly week to spotlight that power. Trump called women “the world’s biggest untapped economic force” and urged women to move “beyond mentorship and toward ownership.” Adviser Marc Beckman described Imperia as an invitation-only network to connect female executives, capital, policy and cross-sector work. Trump also said she works behind the scenes and had helped reunite Ukrainian and Russian children with families. Its next summit steps remain unclear.
