What happened

An ABC News analysis found defense companies backed by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have received more than $6 billion in active or promised government contracts since their investments. President Trump announced a $6.6 billion plan for Anduril Industries to build a shipyard in Maryland, with Navy support funding part of it. Donald Trump Jr. is a partner at 1789 Capital, which took a major stake in Anduril in June 2025. Trump said taxpayers would receive a 40% stake in the yard, while Anduril said that stake would be in a new subsidiary. The brothers’ spokesperson said they do not seek to influence procurement. Congressional Oversight Democrats want the Pentagon inspector general to investigate.
