What happened

New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez filed a civil lawsuit in federal court against Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime lawyer Darren Indyke and accountant Richard Kahn. The suit accuses them of helping finance, facilitate and conceal Epstein’s sex-trafficking operation, including abuse connected to Zorro Ranch. Indyke worked as Epstein’s lawyer for roughly two decades, and Kahn was his accountant. Both later became co-executors of Epstein’s estate and have testified to Congress that they did not know about his abuse. Their lawyer denied they knowingly helped Epstein, saying abuse happened behind closed doors when they were absent. Survivors backed the lawsuit at Torrez’s announcement. The case is pending in federal court.

Left-leaning outlets framed the case as a bid to stop accused enablers from profiting from Epstein’s estate and to extend accountability beyond Epstein himself. CNN centered Torrez’s push to prevent Indyke and Kahn from getting money from Epstein’s trust. The Guardian emphasized that trusted advisers were accused of enabling and concealing Epstein’s crimes.

From the right
