Overview
An 11-year-old baseball card collector has turned down a generous trade offer from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a rare autographed debut patch card of rookie pitcher Paul Skenes. The Pirates' offer included 30 years of premium tickets, meet-and-greet opportunities, and more, but the young collector opted to auction the highly sought-after card instead. Proceeds from the auction, scheduled for March, will be donated to fire relief efforts in Los Angeles. The card's value may increase due to Skenes’ promising future in MLB, having recently won the National League Rookie of the Year Award.
