60 Minutes has named New York Times opinion columnist Ross Douthat a correspondent as part of a new lineup for its 59th season, with former CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell also joining the correspondent roster. The CBS newsmagazine also added Trevor Phillips as senior global affairs correspondent and Sebastian Junger and Gianna Toboni as contributors. Executive producer Nick Bilton announced the hires in a staff memo, two months after a shakeup that included departures of Scott Pelley, Sharyn Alfonsi, Cecilia Vega and Anderson Cooper. The season premieres Sept. 13.
