“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opened with an estimated $355 million from 4,487 North American theaters, the second-biggest domestic debut ever, not adjusted for inflation, and about $2 million behind 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” Globally, the Sony-Marvel release reached $927 million across 90,000 screens, also ranking second all time behind “Endgame’s” $1.22 billion launch. The Tom Holland-led fourth standalone Spider-Man film helped lift the overall North American box office to about $429 million, a record weekend, with “The Odyssey” adding $51 million.
