The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

All of Ed Sheeran’s remaining North American tour openers quit after Macklemore was removed from the lineup over pro-Palestinian remarks he made at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on September 4 and 5. Finneas, Lukas Graham, Beoga, and Aaron Rowe said they were withdrawing in solidarity, leaving the Loop Tour without support acts on its U.S. and South American dates. Sheeran said the removal was a promoter and venue decision, while Macklemore said New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and other stadium owners pushed for his ouster. Afterward, Dearborn, Michigan, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud invited Macklemore to perform a free concert in the city.
