Carrot Top Hospitalized

Carrot Top, the comedian whose real name is Scott Thompson, was hospitalized in Las Vegas after an apparent suicide attempt reported by TMZ. He canceled scheduled performances at the Luxor because of the hospitalization. Thompson has headlined a Luxor residency since 2005, making him one of the longest-running acts in Las Vegas history. His career is closely associated with prop comedy, red hair, and earlier television, film, Bally’s, and MGM Grand work. His representative said he is recovering in the hospital, receiving needed care and support, and asked for privacy for him and his family. The cause has not been publicly confirmed. His next cited performance was expected Monday.
