Dennis Haskins Dies At 75

What happened

Dennis Haskins, the actor best known for playing Principal Richard Belding in the “Saved by the Bell” franchise, died at 75. He died at a Burbank assisted-living facility around 11 p.m. Sunday, friend and longtime caretaker Kimberly Snow said. Haskins first played Belding on Disney Channel’s “Good Morning, Miss Bliss” in 1988, before it became NBC’s “Saved by the Bell.” He stayed with the role through “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” until 2000. Longtime agent Jay Schachter called his death a “tragic loss” and said Haskins loved his fans. No cause of death was publicly disclosed in the initial reports.
