What happened
Zach Bryan wore a shirt reading “Free Palestine” during his Friday night concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. He was performing the first of two scheduled shows there. The venue is owned by Robert Kraft, who also owns the New England Patriots. Weeks earlier, Macklemore was removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour after pro-Palestinian remarks, and his planned Gillette appearances were blocked. Kraft said Macklemore had crossed a line with actions and rhetoric he called offensive to Jewish people. Macklemore said criticism of Israel is not hatred of Jews, and pledged $1 million for Palestinians. Bryan did not address the shirt from the stage. He is scheduled to return for a second night.
How each side covered it
From the left
Left-leaning accounts treated the shirt as an intentional pro-Palestinian statement, with the venue dispute giving it added meaning. The Los Angeles Times framed Bryan as signaling support for Palestinians at the same stadium where Macklemore had been barred over similar messaging.
From the right
Right-leaning accounts treated the apparel as a political move that drew Bryan into the Macklemore-Israel fight. The Daily Wire framed it as a pointed challenge to Robert Kraft inside Kraft’s own stadium. Daily Mail linked the episode to Bryan’s past political controversies rather than treating it as a stand-alone concert moment.
