Former Titans star Chris Johnson says he has ALS and will raise awareness.

Johnson, 40, said he was diagnosed last year after noticing weakness in his right hand and has no known family history of the disease. He spoke with Michael Strahan using an eye-controlled speech-generating device and said he wants to raise awareness, urging others to seek diagnosis sooner. The former first-round pick played 10 NFL seasons with teams including the Titans and Arizona Cardinals and remains one of only nine players in league history to top 2,000 rushing yards in a season.
