FDA Expands Cyclospora Probe

Michigan lifted its recommendation to avoid bagged salad mixes and said residents could resume routine lettuce guidance as cyclosporiasis reports declined after 12,485 cases, 279 hospitalizations and two deaths. Federal investigators have linked parasitic illness cases in 15 states to iceberg lettuce; the CDC has confirmed 10,468 domestically acquired cyclospora cases across 47 states and is reviewing 12,255 more reports.
