The CDC declared the largest recorded U.S. cyclosporiasis outbreak over, saying the risk of illness from the implicated iceberg lettuce has ended and recalled product is off the market. The outbreak sickened nearly 13,000 people in 21 states, with 570 hospitalizations and two deaths reported. Investigators linked illnesses to shredded or processed iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms in central Mexico. The FDA said its investigation remains ongoing.
