A Barrow County judge sentenced Colt Gray, 16, on July 28 to life in prison without parole for the Sept. 4, 2024, shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. Gray had pleaded guilty to all 55 felony counts, including murder, aggravated assault and cruelty to children, in a non-negotiated plea. He killed two students and two teachers and wounded another teacher and eight students. Authorities said Gray used an assault-style rifle he had received for Christmas.
