At least five people have died in Indiana after severe storms and flooding swept the state this week, with heavy rain sending rivers and creeks over their banks. First responders used boats Saturday to rescue several dozen people and pets from neighborhoods along the White River in Indianapolis, and emergency managers said more rescues were expected as floodwaters rose. Gov. Mike Braun said President Donald Trump intended to approve Indiana’s request for a Presidential Emergency Declaration and mobilize FEMA assistance.
