A Learjet crashed in a residential area of Palm Beach County, Florida. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed all nine people aboard died. Authorities had not reported any confirmed deaths or injuries on the ground. The Learjet 60 went down around 12:50 p.m. on Nov. 1 near Cresthaven. The private jet had left Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said there were no immediate reports of anyone on the ground being hurt or killed. The crash left a large crater, fires and debris near homes and a busy roadway. Officials evacuated about 600 people. The NTSB is leading the investigation, with FAA help.

How the left told it

Left-leaning outlets framed the crash as a violent tragedy that narrowly missed becoming worse on the ground. CNN leaned on the image of a plunging jet erupting in a fireball, using the Federal Aviation Administration's description. The Guardian lingered on how close homes and passing vehicles came to the impact. The New York Times stressed that the cause was still unresolved.

How the right told it

Right-leaning outlets emphasized the crash as a catastrophic spectacle, nearby political geography, and cockpit drama. The New York Post centered the fireball, crater, destruction threatening a residential community, and final radio transmissions from a crew facing an uncontrollable descent. Fox News framed the disaster around its proximity to President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.
