Darline Graham Nordone Sworn In

Darline Graham Nordone, the younger sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham, was sworn into the U.S. Senate on Tuesday to complete his South Carolina term, which runs through Jan. 3, 2027. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Nordone on Monday after President Donald Trump backed her as the interim replacement. Graham, a four-term Republican senator, died Saturday night at 71 of an aortic dissection, leaving the seat vacant three days before the swearing-in. Nordone is the first woman to represent South Carolina in the Senate; a special Republican primary must be held by Aug. 11 ahead of a November election.
