The reporting
Darline Graham Nordone, the younger sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham, was sworn in Tuesday as South Carolina’s interim U.S. senator after Gov. Henry McMaster appointed her Monday to fill his seat. Graham died suddenly over the weekend, and Nordone will serve the remainder of his term, which runs until Jan. 3, 2027. She becomes the first woman to represent South Carolina in the Senate. Sen. Tim Scott said Nordone should consider running in the special GOP primary to become Graham’s permanent successor.
