Rodric Bray Steps Down

Indiana Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray announced Friday he will not seek another term as the chamber’s top Republican leader when the caucus elects leadership in November. Bray had opposed President Donald Trump’s push for mid-decade congressional redistricting in Indiana, helping block a plan aimed at redrawing the state’s U.S. House map. Trump then threatened primary challenges against Republicans who resisted the effort. Six Republican incumbents who opposed the redistricting push lost their primaries, intensifying pressure on Bray and the Senate GOP caucus.
