The reporting
Former White House COVID-19 response coordinator Ashish Jha rebutted HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s CNN interview claims, challenging his statements about Fauci, pandemic measures, vaccines and scientific research. In the State of the Union interview, Kennedy accused Fauci of “lying about everything,” blamed lockdowns and public-health officials for pandemic harms, and said constitutional rights should outweigh public-health directives. Kennedy also said Trump wants HHS to investigate any link between vaccines and autism and said an answer on autism causes is coming. He urged measles vaccination amid a 35-year high in U.S. cases.
Analysis & opinion
On-air meltdownLeans Left
RFK Jr. lost his composure when Dana Bash pressed him on pandemic preparedness, Fauci, Trump, and vaccines. Instead of answering with facts, he lashed out, berated or condescended to Bash, and turned the interview into an angry spectacle.
CNN COVID takedownLeans Right
RFK Jr. was right to confront Dana Bash and CNN over their pandemic-era conduct. CNN promoted COVID fear, defended Fauci-era falsehoods, and helped marginalize dissenting voices, and RFK Jr. exposed that record on air.
