The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most sources agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said in an Aug. 9 appearance on ABC News’s “This Week” that she has not ruled out running for president in 2028, and she also left open a potential Senate bid. Ocasio-Cortez said she is focused now on winning the midterms and running for reelection to her House seat. Her comments come as Democratic progressives seek gains in midterm primaries and as polling in New Hampshire shows her gaining support among Democratic voters.
