Six States Hold Primaries

Voters in six states — South Carolina, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vermont, Alabama and Connecticut — are choosing nominees for November races that include House, Senate and governor contests. In South Carolina, 10 Republicans are competing in a special primary to replace the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of the night’s most crowded contests. Wisconsin’s Democratic gubernatorial primary is testing support for democratic socialist candidates, while Minnesota features a Democratic U.S. Senate primary. President Donald Trump has endorsed candidates in South Carolina, Wisconsin and Minnesota, making the results a measure of his pull in Republican primaries.
