The reporting
Israeli troops ordered roughly a dozen Palestinian households in Qusra, in the occupied West Bank, to leave during an operation to remove Israeli settlers who had surrounded three Palestinian homes since Sunday; the order was later rescinded. The settlers cut power and water to the homes, trapping families including Qusai Abu Rida and his teenage son as supplies dwindled. U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said Aug. 12 the embassy was involved and called the siege, which included a Palestinian American-owned home, a “horrific act of terror.”
