The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Rep. Cory Mills lost the Republican primary in Florida’s 7th Congressional District on Tuesday to Ryan Elijah, ending the Trump-endorsed incumbent’s bid for a third House term. With about 93% of ballots counted, Elijah, a former Orlando-area television journalist, led Mills 47% to 34%. Mills entered the race under a House Ethics Committee investigation and amid allegations involving domestic violence, stolen valor and financial impropriety. Democrat Bale Dalton won his party’s primary, setting up a general-election contest for a seat Trump carried by 12 points in 2024.
