President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Ed Martin is leaving the Justice Department, where he served as U.S. pardon attorney and director of the Weaponization Working Group, to handle outside legal work for the upcoming midterm elections and the 2028 presidential race. Martin previously served from January to May 2025 as interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia before moving into his DOJ roles.
