The reporting
Former Cuban President Raúl Castro, 95, appeared in public Saturday at a military ceremony in Havana, his first such appearance since reports that he had been hospitalized with a serious illness. The event marked the 65th anniversary of the Interior Ministry personal security directorate, the army branch responsible for protecting Cuba’s top leaders. Cuban state television broadcast more than 10 minutes of footage showing Castro in an olive-green military uniform. He was shown alongside his grandson and bodyguard, Raúl Guillermo Rodríguez Castro.
