Alien Terrorist Court Deports Afghan Woman

The Justice Department secured the first deportation through the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, a Congress-created tribunal unused for about 30 years, removing Afghan national Nazira Haji Zada, 47, to Afghanistan on Aug. 25. Haji Zada, a permanent resident living in Fort Worth, Texas, conceded through counsel that she qualified as an "alien terrorist," waived appeal and is barred from returning to the United States. The department accused her of helping her son, Abdullah Haji Zada, and son-in-law, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, support an ISIS-inspired mass-shooting plot targeting Election Day 2024.
