Rep. Salazar Warns Trump On Latinos

Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar publicly criticized President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement, saying parts of it have gone too far and alienated Hispanic voters who backed him. Her criticism grew out of a campaign ad warning that those voters now feel betrayed, as Republicans look toward the midterms and try to hold Congress. Salazar said she later spoke with Trump and described the conversation as very good, calling him receptive and courteous. She urged him to preserve GOP gains with Hispanics and said unnamed advisers are not showing him the full picture. She argues Trump could still help pass immigration legislation, including her Dignity Act.
