Ashley Hinson Urges Iran War End

Iowa Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson called for an immediate end to the Iran war and urged cost relief for Iowans. She called for suspending the gas tax, pausing diesel exports, replenishing the highway trust fund and using other tools to lower prices. The shift follows her repeated votes against House measures that would have directed President Donald Trump to stop or limit U.S. involvement, including last week. It also comes as Iowa’s Senate race has moved from a Republican lean to a toss-up. Democratic opponent Josh Turek said Hinson had backed continuing the war seven times and was now following his lead. The race now tests whether the new message changes voters’ views.
