Outlets Sue Trump Over Press Ban

Federal judge Timothy Kelly is set to hear CNN, MS NOW and Politico’s challenge to President Donald Trump’s White House access ban this week. Trump barred the outlets after accusing them of publishing “fake news,” “fiction” and “lies” about his administration. The outlets say the White House revoked their journalists’ credentials without notice or a way to contest it, violating free speech and due process rights. The White House said they can still report on the administration, but are not entitled to credentials or special access. The press pool normally shares cameras, audio and images from presidential events. The outlets are seeking emergency relief restoring access while the lawsuit proceeds.
