Canada Prepared For US Military Action

Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada has examined the possibility of a U.S. military attack, calling it an extreme tail risk that would be irresponsible to ignore. The comments landed amid worsening Canada-U.S. relations after collapsed trade talks and mutual tariffs. President Donald Trump has repeatedly floated Canada becoming the U.S. “51st state,” while saying he would use economic pressure, not military force.
