Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington was ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul after hitting Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham in the head and neck as Cunningham attempted a transition layup in a game on Aug. 8. Carrington later posted “WHITE PRIVILEGE” while tagging the Fever, then said she had not claimed the foul ruling was based on white privilege. Cunningham said race had nothing to do with the ejection. Sky coach Tyler Marsh said he had spoken with Carrington, while Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said similar contact could draw assault-and-battery scrutiny in Florida.
