What happened

Google unveiled Gemini 4 Argon, its newest frontier AI model, and said it beats rivals on coding, knowledge work and cybersecurity tasks. The company is not releasing Argon to the public yet, instead giving vetted cybersecurity experts first access through its Fairwind program. Google said the slower rollout is meant to limit misuse after recent AI-agent safety concerns. It plans later access for paid API customers, enterprise users and consumers. The company said it is giving the US government early access under a voluntary frontier-model review process. Google said Argon can find and patch software flaws, including a hospital software weakness that exposed sensitive patient data. Wider access remains pending.
