At Newark Liberty International Airport, a man was caught trying to conceal a live red-ear slider turtle in his pants during security screening. Detected by a body scanner, the turtle, which measured about 5 inches long, was wrapped in a towel. The man, from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, was escorted by police and missed his flight. TSA's Federal Security Director noted this unusual incident, stating that while travelers often hide weapons, this was unprecedented.
