Lester C. Harvey, 58, of Phenix, Virginia, died after a bear fell on him during a hunting excursion. The incident happened on December 9 in Lunenburg County when the bear, shot by a partner, tumbled from a tree. Despite attempts at first aid and multiple hospital admissions, Harvey succumbed to his injuries days later. Wildlife officials confirmed the incident and stated that no charges are forthcoming.
