North Korea denied responsibility for the $6.3 billion Binance hack. Binance began restoring withdrawals in phases after temporarily suspending them following the attack, which Binance said was discovered around Oct. 29. The FBI attributed the theft to TraderTraitor, a North Korea-linked hacking group, and urged crypto firms to block identified accounts. North Korea has been linked to major crypto thefts that experts say can bring in foreign currency and support weapons programs. Kim Yo Jong, Kim Jong Un’s sister, rejected the U.S. claim as a political provocation and “absurd rhetoric.” Elliptic said the hackers used about 12,000 wallets across 11 blockchains. Cryptocurrency industry partners were urged to block transactions involving accounts linked to TraderTraitor.
