Leon Black Skips Epstein Deposition

Leon Black failed to appear Thursday for a subpoenaed deposition before the House Oversight Committee and instead sued the panel and Chairman James Comer in federal court to block subpoenas in its Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The billionaire investor and Apollo Global Management co-founder challenges demands for sworn testimony and multiple nondisclosure agreements tied to women connected to the inquiry. The committee subpoenaed Black in June after he left a voluntary appearance before questioning was complete. Comer and the committee’s top Democrat said they may pursue contempt proceedings over his nonappearance.
