President Donald Trump signed an Aug. 10 executive order to revise childhood vaccine guidance, replacing CDC 2024 recommendations covering 18 diseases with a narrower schedule covering 11. It calls for spacing vaccines across separate visits, splitting the combined MMR shot into individual measles, mumps and rubella shots, and pressing states to reconsider school vaccine requirements. It also directs DOJ challenges to laws lacking religious and medical exemptions and repeats an autism link not supported by scientific evidence; pediatric groups, WHO and vaccine makers warned the changes could lower immunization.
