NYT Executive Fatally Shot

Police arrested Shouyong Zhang, 77, and Shili Chen, 77, on suspicion of murdering their son-in-law, Jonathan McKinsey, in Dublin, California. McKinsey, a New York Times games engineering director, was shot and killed in a parking lot at Dublin Sports Grounds. Court records say McKinsey had been in a domestic and child-abuse dispute with his wife, Candice Jang, including divorce and custody proceedings. He also faced 2025 child-abuse charges, tied to allegations he hit his stepson and left a young child unattended, and pleaded not guilty. Witnesses said two masked people shot McKinsey and stayed nearby until officers detained them within minutes. Authorities have not released a motive and scheduled a Wednesday arraignment, with no known public threat.
