Nigel Farage regained the Clacton parliamentary seat in a by-election he triggered by resigning in July, winning 22,239 votes for Reform UK against 9,455 for runner-up Count Binface. Britain’s main parties did not field candidates, leaving Farage to face a slate of fringe contenders headed by the trash-can-costumed satirist. Farage did not attend the count, saying he had been warned of an organized effort to disrupt the result. After the victory, Parliament reopened a standards investigation into whether he failed to declare a £5m gift.
