The reporting
The UAE said on Aug. 15 that Iran attacked an Abu Dhabi National Oil Company vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the third strike on a state-owned Emirati oil vessel in less than a week. UK Maritime Trade Operations also reported a projectile struck the hull of a bulk carrier in the waterway. President Donald Trump said he would “pretty soon” declare the Strait of Hormuz U.S. territory after Iran’s defeat. Iran rejected the claim, saying the strait “has been Iranian” and its opening or closure remains under Tehran’s control.
