The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison sued Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in federal court Tuesday to compel the extradition of ICE agent Christian Castro to Minnesota for trial. Castro, now in Texas custody, faces four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime over a nonfatal shooting that wounded a man during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis. Ellison says Abbott has not approved Minnesota’s extradition request. The suit seeks an order blocking Cameron County officials from releasing Castro while the extradition dispute is resolved.
