President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday directing the federal government to establish the U.S. Space Academy, a proposed service academy for the Space Force. The order creates a White House commission to develop the school’s structure, admissions model and implementation plan, with the academy’s location still to be determined. Trump announced the move at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston during a ceremony awarding the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the four Artemis II astronauts. The academy is intended to train future Space Force personnel, NASA workers and commercial space-industry operators.
