The reporting
President Donald Trump said “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker would be reported to the Federal Communications Commission for “rebuke or punishment” after he said she described his endorsed candidates as having “mixed results.” In Truth Social posts, Trump urged FCC Chair Brendan Carr to address “FAKE NEWS” and said the agency should scrutinize media polling. Trump cited wins by Darline Graham and Mike Mazzei and claimed a 100% Senate and 98% House endorsement record. Treasury also denied some New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg reporters G20 credentials.

Trump wrongly threatened Kristen Welker and invoked the FCC because he disliked her coverage and criticism of his endorsement record. His response was an alarming attempt to punish journalism and intimidate the press rather than answer reporting on the merits.
