Zelenskyy Presses UN On Russia
Ukraine's leader urged tougher pressure on Russia and warned the UN about AI in war.
What happened
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky used his U.N. General Assembly speech to urge leaders to keep economic pressure on Russia. He said cutting Moscow’s trade income would make it harder to sustain the war. The appeal came as Russian drone attacks hit Kyiv during Zelensky’s New York trip, killing two people and injuring 23. Zelensky warned the war reaches beyond Ukraine by disrupting fuel, fertilizer, grain shipments, and global power politics. He called Russian President Vladimir Putin the conflict’s “Patient Zero” and said Russia had lost about 248,000 soldiers in eight months. Zelensky also met President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte as he sought more support.

It also emphasized Zelenskyy’s warning that AI could transform the war.
