TV networks resumed Trump coverage after CNN and MS NOW were reinstated.

What happened

The White House restored the television pool for President Donald Trump’s events after a federal judge temporarily ordered access restored for CNN, MS NOW and Politico. The outlets had been barred from White House grounds, and ABC News, CBS News, Fox News and NBC News then suspended pooled TV coverage in protest for several days. The dispute began after Trump called the outlets’ coverage negative or fake news; the outlets sued, saying the ban violated free-speech and due-process rights. By Friday morning, CBS was the main pool network at the White House, while CNN covered Trump and Xi Jinping at the National Archives. The question now is whether normal pool access will continue.

Left-leaning coverage cast the fight as a press-freedom test made sharper by Xi Jinping’s visit. MEDIAite said the episode “really does not reflect well upon America”. MS NOW lingered on continued blocks after the judge’s order. CNN framed the pool’s return as a collective response, while New Republic faulted Trump for blaming missing coverage on barred outlets.
