What happened
The White House blocked CNN from traveling with President Donald Trump on Air Force One for his Saturday trip to Tennessee, preventing the network from serving its scheduled television pool role. CNN was assigned to cover Trump's Knoxville visit for a University of Tennessee football game through the rotating pool, a shared system used when space is limited. The step followed an earlier ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House grounds, which a federal judge temporarily reversed for 14 days. Trump has said CNN and MS NOW are "fake news" and should not enter the White House. CNN said the order should restore pool access; the White House says it restores hard-pass access only.
