The reporting
Meta on Monday released Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter open-weight model designed to run AI agents locally on high-end laptops and PCs. The model is available under the Apache 2.0 license, allowing users to download, modify and deploy its weights rather than access it only through Meta-run cloud services. CEO Mark Zuckerberg also said Meta will open the weights for Muse Spark 1.2, its more powerful model, in the next few weeks. In a more than 6,000-word essay, Zuckerberg argued for free or low-cost access to high-powered AI models.

Incomplete AI RebootMostly Center
Meta’s move back toward open-weight AI models is an attempt to revive a struggling AI strategy. The return may signal a reboot, but it is not yet sufficient to prove that Meta has achieved a real comeback.
