At the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, the humanoid robot Lightning ran 100 meters in 9.32 seconds, faster than Usain Bolt’s 9.58-second human world record. The Honor-developed robot reached a peak speed of 14.5 meters per second during a test event for the five-day competition, now in its second year. Organizers said more than 2,000 humanoid robots were participating, with Chinese machines also surpassing human records in the high jump on the opening day.
